The water went down. The income never came back.
Relief reaches a family for a week. A skill stays with them. Humrahi runs twelve employability modules — free, on any phone, in Bangla, Hindi or English — and we are looking for NGOs, community groups, local volunteers and colleges across the flood-hit districts of Assam to carry it the last mile, to the households that will never find it on their own.

We went with blankets. We came back with a harder question.
Between 15 and 17 August 2026, seven Humrahi volunteers travelled to Mautgaon in Sivasagar, hosted by the Nine Story Foundation. On the night of the 16th we handed relief kits to more than 300 families. That is a real thing and we are glad we did it.
It is also, honestly, a week of food. What people told us on that line was not about blankets. It was that the loom is gone, the shop is gone, the season's work is gone — and the boy who finished Class 10 has nowhere to be.
Relief we can send. Income we cannot. What we can hand over, at no cost and at any distance, is a free, certified employability course that runs on the phone already in their pocket. What we cannot do from Siliguri is find the right people and sit with them while they register.
That is the ask on this page. Not money. People on the ground.

A free course that fits in a flood-damaged house
Humrahi Foundation is a partner institute of the Skills Development Network, supported by the Wadhwani Foundation. The programme below is what that partnership lets us give away, to anyone, at no cost.
It runs on a phone
No laptop, no computer lab, no home broadband. The modules open in a mobile browser and can be done an hour at a time, whenever there is network.

In a language they think in
Bangla, English, Hindi, Marathi, Kannada and Odia. The language is chosen once, at registration, and cannot be changed afterwards — so this is the one step worth sitting with someone for.

We would rather name the gap than paper over it: there is no Assamese medium today. If your organisation works with Assamese-first families, tell us in the form — the number of you who say so is the argument we can take back to the platform.
Who we need in the flood-hit districts of Assam
You do not need to be big, funded or registered to be useful here. You need to know families we do not know.
We have physically been to Sivasagar and Charaideo, and nowhere else. If you are in Cachar, Dhemaji, Nagaon, Golaghat, Jorhat or anywhere else the water reached, we have no one there — which is exactly why we are asking.

The things partners ask us first
Is the course really free for flood-affected families?
Yes. There is no fee, no deposit and no charge for the certificate. Humrahi Foundation runs it as a partner institute of the Skills Development Network, supported by the Wadhwani Foundation. Nobody should ever be asked for money to register — if anyone asks, tell us.
Is the course available in Assamese?
Not today. The course runs in Bangla, English, Hindi, Marathi, Kannada and Odia. For much of the Barak Valley and many flood-affected households, Bangla works. Where it does not, that is a real gap and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise. Our volunteers support learners on WhatsApp in Bangla, Hindi and English.
What does a partner organisation actually have to do?
Share the link with people who would benefit, and help a few of them get past registration. That is the whole ask. You do not need to run classes, provide a computer lab, sign an MoU or handle any money. If you want to run a batch at a school, college or ITI, we will support that too.
Do learners need a laptop or internet at home?

Does Humrahi collect any money through this page?

How will I get the link and material after I sign up?
The link is published openly on this page, so you can start sharing immediately. After you sign up we email you the same link with a forwardable WhatsApp message and printable material, and a Humrahi volunteer calls you on the number you give us.
I'm not in Assam. Can I still help?
Yes. Choose "I can help online / from outside Assam" in the form. Translating a message, calling registered learners to check they finished, or introducing us to one organisation in a flood-hit district — all of it counts, and the last one counts most.
